Has the Scientology Field been hijacked the same way the corporate church was?

It is well known the corporate [http://scientology.org Church of Scientology] was hijacked by a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabal cabal] within the management ranks and it was successfully taken over and re-purposed for the benefit and [http://www.thefreedictionary.com/aggrandizement aggrandizement] of those in charge - led primarily by [http://freeheber.com/index.php?title=David_Miscavige David Miscavige].

Field Scientologists (not on staff), and even the vast majority of lower echelon staff members had no idea this silent coup had occurred except to the degree they sensed "something was wrong". But locked into a false notion the best and really, the only remedy for perceived "outnesses" was to work internally to report and effect improvements, they suffered in misery while putting on a brave face for the world in hopes it would turn for the better. We now know that this was and is a futile path to reform...
unless, if enough public and staff were able to come to either the gradual or the nearly simultaneous conclusion the ship was being skippered by mad men, then internal pressure and demand for a change in leadership would attain to a sufficient "[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tipping_Point tipping point]" as to force the removal of the leadership and correct the wrong doing.

But since 2009 with the publication of the [http://www.tampabay.com/ St. Pete Times]' seminal expose in its [http://www.tampabay.com/specials/2009/reports/project/ "Truth Rundown"] report, certain ex-patriots, former members of the cabal itself, have undertaken to unleash such a steady stream of "whistle-blowing" expose's through their blogs and media contact interviews so as to capture the attention and hold hostage the attention of the (out) Field of Scientologists.

This activity has been so sensationalistic and so

The Scientology "Field" is composed of non-staff Scientologists. Anyone not working for the corporate entity known as "[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_Scientology The Church of Scientology]" are considered "Public" or Field Scientologists. This is further broken down into two main groups: those affiliated with the corporate church and those not. Those not affiliated with the corporate church are further segmented into loose alliances such as the "[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Zone_%28Scientology%29 Free zone]", "[http://scientolipedia.org/info/Rons_Org_Committee Ron's Org]" and "[http://www.scientology-cult.com/ Independent Scientologists]". (Indies)

From the early days of Dianetics and then Scientology, the Field was purposed with the task of introducing new people to the subject and making basic auditing and training available to them. "Field" auditors were given special status and designations and were encouraged to set up practices after completing certification by the central organizations. As the central organizations grew throughout the 50's, 60's and 70's so too did Field "Missions" since the structure was designed to low new initiates from the Field up and onto the higher level services only available at corporate organizations.

Many early pioneers and entrepreneurial types were successful at creating substantial organizations which in many cases, consisted of over a hundred staff and many hundreds of paying public. The largest number of such groups were in the US but there were substantial numbers worldwide as well. 

It is important to understand the vast majority of new people getting involved with Scientology came into the movement through these Field activities rather than through the outreach efforts of the corporate, central organizations.

So how does one hijack a movement? 

Simple, just re-purpose it.

This can be seen in the current culture of the United States of America for a very broad example. Where up until several decades ago the dominant cultural attitude and 'purpose' was one of self-reliance and optimistic expectation that given hard work and a modicum of intelligent application of initiative, one could expect the rewards those things brought. But gradually that culture of optimistic self reliance in the pursuit of one's personal achievement was re-purposed to one of expectation of the handout.
