LRHL. Ron Hubbard Stories is a DVD containing accounts by people who had direct experience with L. Ron Hubbard - see http://lrhstories.org/scnpedia/ – did the "church" approve it?

I got my copies a few days ago, and would recommend it with two provisos:

Proviso 1: the sound quality is not the best, so you need to be willing to put up with that

Proviso 2: there is 3½ hours of it (twice that if you are lucky) and you need to be willing to go through some boring (and difficult to understand) parts.

That said, I got some interesting data out of it, and was surprised to see live people who were "names" in the 50's, even some going back to before Book One came out. There was also an interesting contribution from some one who was part of Ron's Messenger Org after she had become a Class VIIIThe Class VIII Course teaches exact handling of all cases up to 100 per cent result, as well as Class VIII procedures, all case setup actions, all processes and corrective actions, as well as flubless Class VIII auditing. (Dianetics and Scientology Technical Dictionary (C) 1975), who gave data on Ron's life after he had left the ship.

The various items are relatively old – the latest of them was made in 2000 (its 2014 when I write this, and I heard of the DVD less than a month ago, I ordered it on the 2nd Dec, and got it three days ago). I have become very curious about its history, which is not all that evident. In some of the items (most of which are given before an audience) there is a stand with the letters OTN on it, so it is possible an OTOperating Thetan - 7. this state of being is attained by drills and familiarity after the state of Clear has been obtained. A real OT has no reactive bank, is cause over matter, energy, space, time and thought and is completely free. (HCOB 12 Jul 65)...More Committee was responsible for the meetings where most of these were given. One of the lectures (in the second DVD) mentions, in a way that makes it sound as though that was a good thing, that the person being introduced was commended by David Miscavige. However there is no sign of it having Issue Authority, being recognised by the "Church" or having come through "Church" channels.

I was fortunate in February this year to come in contact with Rhona Smit (né Swinburne) who I had heard of as Ron's secretary in 1957. (see [[1]] ). She had been "in" the Church until a few years ago, given special treatment by the "church" and not been suspicious of the direction the "Church" was going. She did get special treatment, and was trumped up at events as one who had known Ron. In view of that, my suspicion is that all the people seen in these videos who all had an unusual relationship to Ron, got special treatment and were able to keep blinkers on (ignoring defects in the latter day "Church") and be paraded now and then as people who had known Ron. So my suspicion is that these videos (they were made between 1997 and 2000) were made by people and an organisation that were in good standing with "Church" authorities, but who later ran in to "Church red tape" when it came to marketing them. Thus my guess is that as a small group they "came to their senses" (from our point of view), quietly left the Church, and organised the production and sale of these DVDs now, at the end of 2014. And knowing what I know now, it would not be an easy job for the majority of key members of an OTOperating Thetan - 7. this state of being is attained by drills and familiarity after the state of Clear has been obtained. (HCOB 12 Jul 65)...More group to come to an agreement about leaving the "Church" and get together this product, which, despite the two weaknesses I have mentioned, is an amazing product.

I have put this as a blog on Scientolipedia in the hopes that some will come forth with data on how this DVD (actually two DVDs I got) came to be produced, and particularly marketed in a way which bears no mark of the "Churches" approval, and is highly standard as regards to modern day Internet sales techniques. Not exactly an easy task, I would say.
