He passed away a few weeks ago in Sedona, Arizona. He was one of the original "old timers." Worked with L. Ron Hubbard in DC.�
Added nov. 2014 by Antony_Phillips. John Sanborn joined Pubs Org in 1968. He was at Edinburgh and came with us to Copenhagen. It was he who compiled the book The Phoenix Lectures from LRHL. Ron Hubbard lectures made in 1954. First edition 1968.
John also compiled the book Scientology 0-8 - The Book of Basics. Recent editions have a basic part left out, which is chronicled at http://www.antology.info/articledetails.php?id_art=29 . This was done in Edinburgh, and I did the typesetting for it (using an ultra modern IBM composing machine).
A glimpse of John Sanborn in Edinburgh is given in Jeff Hawkins book and blog Counterfeit Dreams. (I believe the story of his first years in Dianetics1. DIA (Greek) through, NOUS (Greek) mind, deals with a system of mental image pictures in relation to psychic (spiritual) trauma. The mental image pictures are believed on the basis of personal revelation to be comprising mental activity created and formed by the spirit, and not by the body or brain. (BPL 24 Sept 73 V) 2. Dn addresses the body. Thus Dn is used to knock out and erase illnesses, unwanted sensations, misemotion, somatics, pain, etc. Dn came before Scn.
