We're using definitions 1 & 2 for our purposes
LETS what?
The League of Extraordinary Theta hackerS is an initiative to bring together a wide variety of people with varying Internet and computer skills (ranging from novice/interested in learning, to professional level techAbbreviation for technology. , learn, share and embrace the subject of Scientology - we find ourselves using a hodgepodge of blogs, websites and social media.
Although these provide manyt avenues for sharing information, the fact is, we can do a whole lot more with existing technologies than we are. technologies...to name just a few areas of need)
Many people have skills in various facets of today's technologies but they are not currently being utilized or allowed to contribute due simply to a lack of coordination.
institutions
The Central Org (institutional) model for organizing things is unworkable for our situation. Even if we could come to agreement on an "Executive Director" and various other staffing positions to follow the LRHL. Ron Hubbard policies he created for his institutions, it would be an effort that was doomed from the start due to the diverse and diffuse nature of the "Field".
"Field" Scientologists (and those interested in the subject) are located all over the world but except for very few, have no physical location or group to commune with, collaborate with or even socialize with outside of the virtual world of the Internet. Thank god for that much but we as a group have yet to explore or fully capitalize on the potentials of this medium.
A rigid institutional construct would not serve our purposes in this situation.
- “And I believe the freedom of the material which we know and understand is guaranteed only by lightness of organization, a maximum of people, good training and good, reliable, sound relay of information.[4]
ya but...how do we do that?
Simple - we start by using a very common tool for bringing people together in one virtual location via the Internet.
The Webinar "Web conferencing refers to a service that allows conferencing events to be shared with remote locations. These are sometimes referred to as webinars or, for interactive conferences, online workshops. In general, the service is made possible by Internet technologies."[5]
We can set up a webinar to start this whole thing off - In fact, one in already scheduled:
who's running this thing?
Scientolipedia.org is Hosting this initiative in the hope it will become a sort of incubation activity for ever greater involvement and applications. It is hoped we will identify people with interests in or expertise in various projects and the "LETS" umbrella concept will spawn projects and activities. Those who want to coordinate and relay information about the activities which spring from this effort will emerge and be encouraged.
One example of what me might accomplish with the first webinar is the choice of software for the webinar itself. (it's likely someone among us has experience with this type of software and we can improve the format) The software we are using will allow us to include anyone interested from any country in the world...and it's FREE!!!
We'll also put on some demonstrations of practical web and Internet helpful tips.
The primary agenda however, is to create a starting point and offer a virtual structure for us to coordinate from.
This seems to be something needed and wanted and maybe if we take a lighthearted and collaborative approach, some of the problems facing the Field can be addressed.
We'll see.
so what do I do?
Plan to attend the webinar and spread the word to get others to attend as well.
As mentioned above, this is not exclusive to people who already have a high level of technological skill.
Bring your willingness to learn and your interest in "exploring the limits of what is possible, in a spirit of playful cleverness", and we'll dub you an official "LETS" hacker.
We used to say if "Scientology isn't fun, it isn't Scientology".
Lets embrace the nerd in us all, have some fun and do some good in the process.

Discussion
The Discussion Forum for this project is located from the "Discussion" tab at the top of this page or by clicking the link.
It's important we keep a record of questions, answers, tips and ideas concerning this project. The Discussion feature built into this site allows for very robust communication1. the consideration and action of impelling an impulse or particle from source point across a distance to receipt point with the intention of bringing into being at the receipt point a duplication and understanding of that which emanated from the source point. and relay of information.
You can also subscribe to the Scientolipedia Mailing List to keep up-to-date with changes to the wiki software, tips and support questions.
