Note! The above list is by far not a list of all the differences that can be found in comparing the two books which also include breaking down or combining paragraphs, changing original punctuation, and other alterations. Also, the two sections appended at the end of 2007 (“A Step-by-Step Breakdown of 88” and “Additional Incidents on the Theta Line”) were not in 1968 publication. If Ron Hubbard wanted it included in “A History of Man” book, wouldn't he do that in 1968 publication?<br> | Note! and Scientology books have been altered from his original writings and publications, and not for the better - the proof is in this and related articles attached.
The second edition – 1961 – was also available for this review and was found to be basically the same as 1976 printing used in this report.
The very first – 1952 – edition of the book became available for this review and will be referred to throughout this report.
The first edition (1988) copyrighted under "L. Ron Hubbard Library" was also available [ISBN: 0-88404-306-1].
Unlike Fundamentals of Thought and many other basic books, A History of Man was mainly meant for auditors and was initially released as a limited manuscript titled WHAT TO AUDIT. All the previous editions had a disclaimer on the first page stating this fact. The 2007 edition is missing this disclaimer.

Note! Bold formatting in citations was added to highlight key areas of alteration. Square brackets - [ ] - are used to insert notes where needed.
