Opinion: These are INTERNAL goals. Goals that might appeal to an experienced Scientologist. They are not EXTERNAL goals. External goals that might appeal to people who have 1) no exposure to the subject. 2) those whose only exposure is the well documented failures of the orgs and the people. What is important about goals? That they are attainable. That they are compelling to the person holding the goal. That they are well defined with measurable steps toward their fulfillment. That they are desirable and a call toward mass adoption. If there were goals that would present non-Scientologists with WIIFM (WhatsInItForMe) statements maybe there will be change. In other words, people need to be drawn toward something personal.

* Places where you can come to learn about what makes you and those you care about tick.
* Places where you can come to gain shelter from this stressful world.

I will readily admit that I never ever read the entirety of the GREEN VOLUMES. I did spend 35 years in business. Financial services to be specific. That is a highly regulated field. I can also tell you that having understood organizations and people in organizations could never ever possibly operate with any efficiency with the heaviness of regulations that are contained in the GREEN VOLUMES. That is an unworkable technology. Just as an example, the basic staff volume is 853 pages in length. How is a person to operate efficiently when burdened with so much regulation. They challenge the actual technology in scope and depth. The Exec volume? 446 pages. Management Series? 1448 pages. The Divisions 1-7? 6,946. In total 9,693. That challenges the Federal Register in many ways.

Taking Responsibility

IMHO. (OK I wrote an article.) I think those of us outside the official CofS need to begin the process of taking responsibility for the abuses that happened in the name of the spiritual progression of beings via the CofS. And that includes some of Ron's actions, he was not perfect. How we do that is not something I have a solution for but maybe this commentary is a start.

Fighting governments and medical societies, etc. got ingrained into our culture. Now is a different time. There is more of humanity worldwide focused on justice and fair treatment than there was in the 50’s. In the field of the spirit many churches of different stripes have protections probably aided by the fights of CofS. But to remain mired in those fights is not the best way forward.

Can we commit to carving out of the subject the false authority allowing us to treat everyone we disagree with, and everyone who under performs in their job, and all the other excuses we can come up with for accusation, mistreatment and excommunication? Is the concept truly valid that we are the judge and jury? No, it is not, because we are not perfected. We are fellow beings somewhere on the spectrum of freedom and ability, but none are infallible. We all seem to have agreed that participating in the MEST universe is the game we want to play. And so, in the MEST universe it is via ARC that we thrive. With harsh sentences and harsh treatment in the name of "justice" toward our peers we do not build ARC, we break ARC. Violating the basics of the Tone Scale and ARC were errors made by the early CofS. Failing to keep these as our highest ideals - Flunk!

Early Christians and Muslims, among others, did terrible things at the behest of their authorities in the name of the spiritual enlightenment. Today there are continuous examples of people purporting authority, ecclesiastical and otherwise, failing by abusing and creating great harm. Still, that is not a reason that the great religions and institutions should cease to be. Reformation! Kaizen – change for better or improvement.

It is interesting to me that it has taken nearly seventy years after LRH began going public and thirty one since LRH left his body for us to see progress toward a future - free from the constraints of the official CofS. Not unlike Martin Luther; the founders of scientolipedia, Ron's Org, Religious Liberty League and others have unleashed something powerful. Martin Luther let loose forces of unimaginable power at the time and certainly was battled by the Vatican. What Martin Luther did will celebrate its 500th anniversary on October 31, 2017. That reformation changed the Christian church and now there are thousands of Christian denominations. One of the hallmarks of different Christian Churches is that of governance. They each have chosen to structure their churches under different governing systems all the while remaining faithful and loyal to the word of Jesus.

Where will this reformation movement take us? I postulate it leads to more freedom not less. More access not less. More ability not less. More ARC from us toward the world at large not less. As I said earlier; How we do that is not something I have a solution for but maybe this commentary can help in some small way.

Because I see this Scientolipedia effort as similar to Martin Luther pounding a notice on the door of the local Catholic Church! https://www.britannica.com/biography/Martin-Luther In essence ML said: YOU, the Pope and clergy, are not the gateway to God nor are you the exclusive LAWYER for Jesus. What happened over the next several hundred years was miraculous given the lack of communication capabilities such as we have today. That opened the door to the Episcopalians, then later, the Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, et al., generally Protestants. It was quite an irresistible movement away from the Pope and toward the thing they all sought. That being independence but still a part of something larger then themselves. People want to belong! Thetans like to be with other Thetans playing a bigger game. In our case it is a compelling attraction to seek the insights of LRH free from the corporate church.

I know from my own yearning in the years from 1977 to 2017 that it is a compelling desire to have a personal relationship with Scientology. It is a relationship not governed by the corporate and the misguided, which I rejected in 1977. Rather it is a relationship governed by the sheer joy of connecting with greater levels of awareness and helping others to gain the same. Sure, it takes an organization but effective organizations in 2017 can be human without dramatized aberration. There can be standard tech and compassion. Unreasonableness was the calling card of corporate church and it led to a massive breakdown of real effectiveness due to poor if non-exsistent ARC. I agree with Otto [[Otto_J._Roos_Debrief|http://scientolipedia.org/info/Otto_J._Roos_Debrief]]: ARC is not just a neat idea and an MU on unreasonableness is not the way home. ARC is the core practice, if nothing else is, and that (according to LRH) leads to effective auditing and since that is true then it must be the core of an effective growing organization! The Tone Scale [[http://scientolipedia.org/info/Tone_scale]] is the ever present measurement of case gain but also of a well functioning organization. However, seeking ever and unreasonably increasing stats became the “god” of the orgs instead of increasing ARC and Tone Scale. In MEST please name a wave form that is not cyclical. We are present in MEST and we don’t occupy a purely Theta universe. For our purposes here on this planet that is reality. So the question comes to my mind: what kind of organization will fit into this “real” world?
